Gérard Marc Monod (Feb 1914 – Sept 1980) was also known as Gerry Monod. In his life, he was a Ski Instructor in Chamonix-Mont Blanc, Banff, Michigan, Idaho, Kelowna and Vernon; as well as a Ski Racing Coach in Calgary and Colorado. The beautiful voice you hear in this video slideshow is that of my father Gerard Monod. His accomplishments were numerous and he blazed a trail throughout Europe, the US and Canada driven by a love for the great outdoors and the passionate charm of an entrepreneur. Gerard Monod Jazz Musician

Gérard Marc Monod (Feb 1914 – Sept 1980) was also known as Gerry Monod. In his life, he was a Jazz Orchestra Director and Musician often singing vocals; playing the alto saxophone, clarinet and drums. The beautiful voice you hear in this video slideshow is that of my father Gerard Monod. His accomplishments were numerous and he blazed a trail throughout Europe, the US and Canada driven by a love for the great outdoors and the passionate charm of an entrepreneur. As a musician, he was blessed to work with many amazingly talented artists including Coleman Hawkins and Hoagy Carmichael. As a Jazz Musician in Montreux, Switzerland Gérard Monod performed in the Bob Engle Orchestra, the Original Teddies, of the Teddy Stauffer band, the René Weiss Orchestre and with Luis SCALON and his Gauchos (Tango Orchestra from Argentina). His Jazz itinerary would take him to Quebec, Montreal, Chicago, Ottawa, Detroit, Toronto, Winnipeg and finally the Canadian Rockies.
