Colours of Summer, Group Art Exhibition

Tina Monod, Ontario, June 8, 2017 – Art and community have an essential role with the fundraising at Lakeridge Ajax Pickering Hospital. Art can bring innovation to a healthcare environment or it can create real and lasting impact. Come out and visit the new Summer Art Exhibition on the hospital walls. This proud fundraising initiative of arts & health gives on so many levels. Thank you Lakeridge Health!

A Public Health Resource

Here in the care of health professionals and patients, creativity has a whole new purpose. With a focus of wellbeing, art connects people to public health in a supportive way. Whether art sells or not, it is here to help and heal. Art provides a zen garden for all who enter the hospital. It creates a thoughtful space of peace and tranquility.

Community Giving

When you purchase artwork in this show, you are helping an artist. This sparks a special relationship and inspires the artist to create and donate 40 percent of the proceeds to the APH Foundation. Together artists are helping to make a difference and that creates a vibrant community every day. Help us fundraise today and call Jennifer R. Collins at 905-683-2320 ext. 1501.

Festival for the Senses

Tina Monod, Ontario, May 23, 2017 – This summer I will be exhibiting my art at the Bay of Quinte Art and Wine Festival! Please join me on June 10, 2017 from 10 am to 8 pm along the Riverside Trail near Belleville City Hall. Come meet the artists, sample the wines and taste the food – all with beautiful music played by the Quinte Symphony. You will find me with a selection of my Canadian landscape paintings at booth 8 & 9. I will also be live painting in my booth in the afternoon!

As an artist my work is about telling stories. Every painting was once a a journey or adventure and today is a story about Canada. I will be sharing paintings from my series “Mapping the Great Divide” and “Wilderness Expressions.” Some of these are nocturne paintings, also known as starry nights – each have a star to wish upon. All artwork will be for sale and may be purchased directly from the artist. I will be available for answering any questions about my creative process and look forward to sharing my original fine art with you.

Special thanks to The Rotary Club of Quinte Sunrise; their Festival Chair Tanya Hill and Show Manager Kevin Bazkur! Many thanks to the City of Belleville, the Downtown Business Improvement Association (DBIA), all members and festival partners. It is a great pleasure to share my art with a vibrant community cultivating art and culture!

ARTIST DEMO
3 – 5:PM

TINA MONOD is inspired by the valleys and oceans, lakes and mountains of Canada. Her Canadian landscapes are boldly beautiful and vibrant in nature! Her style is both impressionistic and expressionistic in how she captures light and layers with colour. Born in Kelowna, British Columbia Tina Monod chose to pursue her art education in Victoria with a visual arts degree. Monod is a graduate from the University of Victoria with a B.F.A. Honours. She enjoys photographing nature on her walks and these photos become her paintings… My nocturne paintings reveal stars that shine in the luminous night. Each has a star to wish upon. Each painting is a process of layers, which fill in the mountain peaks and forested valley below, establishing both elevation and tree line. With this the trails and bodies of water are carved out. My expressionistic brush strokes remind many of Van Gogh and the Group of Seven painters.
